“what I’ve learned by cutting it all off…
1. self confidence- to have the same hair cut as the boy next to you and still feel feminine can take a lot out of a girl, so to rock a pixie it takes and almost breeds self confidence. That’s something i have more of now than i did 9 months ago.
2. its good to cleanse- having short hair really limits your styling options by about 90%, and while some might find the out come of this repetitive and boring, i found it to be refreshing. i learned not to fall back on my hair,not to feel the need to style it so that it distracted from my face. Having shorter hair really purged me of the numerous, unnecessary hair products and hours spent in front of a mirror trying to make myself look just right, and really gave me back the feeling of feeling pretty.
3.you will have bad hair days, no matter the length- i used to grow my hair out longer and longer, thinking that it will eventually just start to naturally wave and i wouldn’t have to deal with it, when that didn’t work i cut it shorter, but so i could still put it in a pony, and when i wasn’t satisfied with that, i cut it into a pixie. Don’t get me wrong, i love my hair cut now, but some days i wake up and wish i could curl it or put my hair in a bun just for fun. No matter the length of your hair, you will have off days, and you will sometimes still fight with it.
So in the end, and maybe the most important lesson of all, is that a hair cut will not instantly transform you into some sex beast, but it can alter you for the better.”
